A Wee Spot for Eeyore

And the days go by

Just a few more days left until I leave for Arizona. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I'm sure it will all be fine. I was thinking the other day about writing something creative. I got this far "The first time Jenny Murano...". Yep, that's it. The first time she wat? cried? fell down? saw the dark and handsome stranger?? I didn't really pursue it that much but I probably should. My brain is starting to deteriorate just a little bit during my holidays. There must be a support group for new teachers surviving their first summer off. I mean it used to be great when all my friends were students and had their summers off, too. But now, it seems like I'm the only one. I may be starting to understand why Jay's mom shops so much!! Haha. I, however, cannot afford to shop and sometimes don't have the will power to say no, so I confine myself to the house! I should find a hobby of some sort - better yet, meet some people to spend time with! I'm still not convinced that I want to make a commitment to church. Choir starts in little over a month so I guess I can wait until then. But the brain fog is setting in and taking longer to lift these days!

Some thoughts

Hello all - I know it's late. It's Wednesday night and I've gotten in the habit of going to church on Wednesday nights. I couldn't go tonight because of logistic reasons and I'm missing it now. Silly how you can miss some place where you don't even really talk to anyone at all. The people seem so open when they are greeting you....it could be a good thing. I don't really have a lot to say, I'm just sitting here with the boys after ball hockey having a couple drinks house and dog sitting in Ajax. I have to admit -- I'm still a little bit bored during my summer off...... uh oh. I have to get my passport ready - Arizona in 10 days!!! Anywho - gotta run...... Courtney

School's Out For Summer!

And I'm already bored. Dear god - this is going to be one long summer if I don't find something to keep busy with. We went on a mini vacation this past weekend - camping up at Tobermory. It was great, even though it took me a day to fully relax. On Monday I climbed down into a cave - that was pretty fun. I did not, however, jump into the freezing cold water in that cave. Jay did and said it was invigorating - but I did not feel the need to be chilled to the bone on the first warm day of the trip. I got a tiny little sunburn that is mostly gone already and had a pretty good time with some friends. Now it's back to the reality that I don't have to go back to work for 2 months. Wow - with all that time on my hands I should be ready to run a marthon or write a book or something. Any suggestions? I have 2 weeks left until I spring into action getting an emergency passport. What a silly mistake I made. Oh well - I'm sure it will all work out in the end. I'm reading a really good book right now - Rush Home Road by Lori Lansens - the same girl who wrote The Girls. I recommend it for sure. I guess that's all for now - but I'll try to write more regularly now that I have time off - even though there is less going on..... we'll see how that works out!
